Wanganui

Am hunkered down for the night in a nice little hotel/hostel in Wanganui, city of about 45,000 at mouth of New Zealand's longest navigable river. Lots of mod cons here, in particular that rare animal known as Free Wifi. Almost as elusive as the nocturnal kiwi.

Watching NZ telly which is delightfully bereft of commercials, and enjoying the large portrait of a dog which dominates the tv lounge, as seen above. Haven't seen the resident black cat, Candy, since check-in.
