On the return boat trip from Kapiti Island my curiosity led to this exchange with the kiwi bird scientist mentioned last post:
Me: Sooo, your dog actually goes into the bushes and sniffs out birds for you?
Dude: Yes. (pronounced “yiss” of course)
Me: And then you, uh, “do your thing”..
Dude: Yes..we don’t let the dog do the tagging. Yet.
Nicely played, sir.
Consider yourself lucky I didn't ask how many times you've heard the "what is the definition of a Kiwi?" joke.
