A few comments:
1. Not actually a boarding pass for the paddle steamer I took on Saturday. Rather, a marketing tool (see 2.)
2. This was given to me by the lodge where I was staying (see insignia). Everyone's in for their cut of everything in the tourism industry here.
3. Free tea and scone and cream was a nice touch.
4. Note the alternative spellings "Wanganui" and "Whanganui". Long-ass story about that, there's even a panel in local museum dealing just with that question. In a nutshell, "Whanganui" is the Maori / p.c. spelling but not everybody has caught up, including mapmakers.
